Representatives of Russian laboratories, where tests are conducted to identify infection with Covid-19, said that false indications for tests for infection with the Corona virus can appear as a result of the actions of doctors and patients themselves.

According to them, the reason for the appearance of erroneous results may lie in incorrect sampling from the body of the person being tested, or incorrect transfer of these samples. For example, while performing a biopsy, doctors may not touch the cheeks, tongue, gums, or lips. All necessary tools must be sterile, and vital materials must be stored in appropriate conditions specified for this. Each test tube with the sample must be placed in a separate bag with cotton or a plastic container with a lid and placed in a refrigerator or thermo bag. In this case, the pipe must remain in a vertical position.

And on the test results, the patient's own preparation can also affect. It is not recommended to eat, drink, brush teeth, rinse, chew gum, or smoke, at least 1 hour before the test. Also, do not rinse the nose or spray the medicine. In addition, testing should be performed as soon as possible after symptoms are detected, because over time after the first clinical symptoms are detected, the virus is less likely to be detected.

Specialists from the First Medical University in Moscow, together with their colleagues from other countries, conducted a large-scale study of the problem of diagnosing Covid-19 in Russia, and it was found that the error rate in the tests for polymerase chain reaction (short for PCR) reaches more than 50%, so it is not permissible. Reliance on it when diagnosing Coronavirus. When making the diagnosis, the patient's characteristic clinical symptoms are sufficient.
