The American "Johns Hopkins" University reported that the United States recorded an unprecedented increase of more than 80,000 cases for the second day in a row in the outcome of new infections with the emerging coronavirus.

The university, which bases its statistics on the data of federal and local official bodies and open sources, confirmed today, Sunday, that the United States recorded 83,718 new cases of the epidemic yesterday, Saturday, compared to 83,757 the previous day.

The university stated that the death toll from the coronavirus in the United States increased during the last day, by 914 new deaths, compared to 943 deaths on Friday.

According to university data, eight million 578 thousand and 63 confirmed cases of corona have been recorded in the United States since the beginning of the pandemic, including 224,000 906 deaths, the largest toll in the world.
