The number of Coronavirus infections worldwide exceeded 40 million, Monday, according to a Reuters census, at a time when the advent of winter in the northern hemisphere supports a new wave in the spread of the epidemic.

The Reuters count is based on official data from various countries, and experts believe that the actual number of injuries and deaths is likely much higher in light of lack of examinations and the reluctance of some countries to reveal the actual numbers of injuries.

Reuters data showed the rate of injuries continued to rise.

The epidemic took only 32 days to jump from 30 million cases to 40 million infections, compared with the 38 days it took to climb from 20 to 30 million infections, and 44 days between 10 and 20 million cases, while the virus took 3 full months to reach the first 10 million infections since the emergence of infection. The first time in Wuhan, China, in early January.

A few days ago, the virus recorded a record number of daily infections worldwide, amounting to more than 400,000.

The average number of new daily infections in the global epidemic last week reached about 347 thousand cases, compared with 292 thousand in the first week of October.

The United States, India and Brazil are still the countries most affected by the epidemic in the world, while North, Central and South America account for about 47.27 percent of the number of infections globally.
