After about 10 countries imposed Corona screening on travelers coming from their territories, China condemned those measures, warning that it would respond with"countermeasures".

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said: "some countries have imposed restrictions on the entry of travelers, targeting only Chinese. This lacks a scientific basis, and some practices are unacceptable,"he said.

The official warned that Beijing may "take countermeasures, based on the principle of reciprocity."

Chinese President Xi Jinping called for "more effort and strengthening of unity," as the country enters a "new stage" in its approach to combating the coronavirus.

The Chinese government changed its coronavirus policy about 3 weeks ago and eased its strict measures, which included mass testing and lockdown.
