According to a source responsible for the League of Arab States; Today, the repercussions of the Corona pandemic have clearly demonstrated that the Arab region urgently needs closer and deeper cooperation in containing such cross-border crises and that no single State can face such crises without ambitious and interactive regional cooperation at the international level.
"The Assistant Secretary-General Overseeing the Information and Communication Sector of the League of Arab States," said Ambassador Ahmed Rasheed Khabbi.
"The Corona pandemic was the greatest crisis to humanity after the Second World War, with more than 5 million deaths, more than 300 million casualties, according to estimates from the World Health Organization (WHO). The world economy has recorded huge losses, including in our Arab region.
"The consequences of this pandemic crisis in the Arab region have been exacerbated by the complexities and fragility of the political, security, economic and social situation, which have led to a recession and downturn, a decline in the movement of investments, high unemployment rates, especially among young people, and a deterioration in living conditions.
"This pandemic has shown that genuine development cannot be envisaged without giving the highest priority to the social and health sector, whether at the level of the composition of doctors, paraplegics or therapeutic structures, and ensuring health care within a decent hospital environment.
Khattaby stated that "a determined and effective response to this crisis requires more sustained solidarity, taking into account the special transitional conditions of some Arab States.
