In a statement to national radio, the Director-General of the Pasteur Institute of Algeria, Fawzi Darrar, announced the emergence of a subfamily of the Corona virus mutant

omicron. (BA2 and BA3) in Algeria, Fawzi Darrar explained that "unlike last year the health system was not under pressure, although indications during November and December were that the fourth wave would be dangerous because of the delta mutant," noting that "Algeria recently recorded several cases of BA2 subfamilies from the omicron mutant, which defines it."

It is widespread in some European countries, such as Denmark, South Africa, the United States and in some Asian countries. "

Darrar reassured that "this proliferation is not a cause for concern, but a cause for caution and vigilance."

On the number of cases of this new mutant, the Director-General of the Pasteur Institute confirmed that they would be made public later, noting that "Omicron cannot be considered as severe as some people think it is a virus, and changes in it and complications in the human body cannot be predicted."
