A source from the World Health Organization (WHO) said today that vaccines produced to counter the corona virus could be updated to be more effective against the omicron mutant.

A technical advisory group established by the World Health Organization (WHO) said today that existing corona virus vaccines may need to be updated to ensure their effectiveness against new variables such as omicron.

In a statement sent to journalists by the World Health Organization (WHO), independent experts said that "the current composition of corona virus vaccines may need to be updated to ensure that corna vaccines continue to provide WHO-recommended levels of protection against infection and disease by volatile organic compounds, including omicron and future variables.

The World Health Organization source added that further research is needed to determine whether current anti-corona vaccines provide adequate protection against highly contagious omicron mutants.

According to one news agency, although manufacturers are already developing next-generation vaccines, the latest WHO technical report aims to answer some of the big outstanding questions about the highly modified mutant that first emerged last November, such as its severity, portability and ability to evade vaccines.
