Amidst an accelerated spread of the Omicron strain, Britain has registered a new record of daily infections of the Corona virus causing Covid-19 infection.

In an updated statistic, the BHS reported an increase of 129,471 cases over the past 24 hours compared to 98,515 in data yesterday, reaching a level of 123,38676.

Today's yield, which does not include data from Scotland and Northern Ireland, is a record number of new corona infections with the previous highest rate of 122186 and was monitored on December 24.

The Ministry also reported 18 new deaths due to the disease, compared with 143 in a statistic, bringing the number of victims of the pandemic in the United Kingdom to 148,021.

The rise in daily corona infections comes against the backdrop of an accelerated spread of the omicron strain, which is more contagious than all its predecessors and contains a record number of mutations.
