A source responsible for the World Health Organization (WHO) said today that the corona pandemic must end next year.

"The year 2022 must be the end of the corona virus pandemic," said Tedros Adhanom Gebresos, Director-General of the World Health Organization.

Giprisus said he believed the epidemic would end next year because two years after the corona virus spread, "we know the virus well and we have all the tools to combat it."

WHO projections showed that vaccine supplies should be sufficient to vaccinate all the world's adult populations and give boosters to high-risk populations by the first quarter of 2022.

The major problems to be overcome were the "effective implementation of all tools," in particular the concern for equity. "Unless we vaccinate the whole world, I don't think we can end this epidemic."

"What worries me is whether we have the stamina to finish it," said Maria van Kirkoff, adding: "I think we can."

At the same time, WHO continues to monitor whether the omicron mutant is as severe as delta.
