To bring the total number of confirmed cases of this mutant to 28, the Ministry of Health of Morocco announced, Tuesday, 27 new confirmed infections of the new mutant of the corona virus, omicron.
With regard to the nature of these confirmed cases, 20 of them were recorded in seven family hotbeds and 8 isolated cases. Of these, 5 are children aged 4 months to 13 years.
According to the statement of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection: "Within the framework of the National Surveillance, Epidemiological and Genomic Monitoring System, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection reports to the public opinion that, since the confirmation of the first case on Wednesday, 15 December 2021, 27 new cases confirmed by the new mutant Omicron have been registered, bringing the total number of confirmed cases of this mutant to 28, spread between 13 cases in the White House-Mes, 11 cases in Rabat-Q.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection has indicated that 46 possible cases have been registered, of which 14 are under confirmation in Marrakech-Assfi.
The Ministry concluded its statement by alerting itself to the possibility of an epidemiological setback, given the significant increase in the number of cases and epidemiological spots, especially among families.
All the Ministry called on women citizens and citizens to comply fully with individual and collective preventive measures and measures, as well as to take the vaccine and the enhanced dose.
