Although they are among the countries with the best vaccination rates in Europe, American authorities have recommended that their nationals avoid travelling to 10 countries, including France and Portugal, in the midst of a new epidemic on the Old Continent.

In its new publication, the State Department told American nationals to "avoid traveling to France" and raised the warning level for this country to level four, the highest, as Christmas and New Year approaches, amid the outbreak of the omicron mutant.

The Centers for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC), the main health agency in the United States, explained that "given the current situation (associated with COFID-19) in France, even fully vaccinated passengers could be at risk of developing and transporting mutants."

The list of States concerned with the warning issued by the Centers for Disease Prevention and Control includes, in addition, Andorra, Cyprus, France, Liechtenstein and Portugal in Europe, as well as Jordan and Tanzania.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs added to this regulation Mali and the Fiji Islands, which each announced the registration of the first omicron injury.
