In the World Health Organization's weekly report on the pandemic, referring to the increasing incidence of corona, the World Health Organization (WHO) said today that corona virus deaths in Europe rose by 5% last week, making it the only region in the world where HIV mortality has increased.

The report stated that in all parts of the world except Europe, COFID-19 deaths remained stable or low, with 50,000 deaths worldwide last week, out of 3.3 million new reported infections, 2.1 million in Europe alone.

About 60% of the population of Western Europe are reported to have been fully vaccinated against COFID-19, while only about half have been vaccinated in the eastern part of the continent, where officials struggle to overcome fears of receiving vaccinations.

WHO added that Corona virus infections have been declining in Africa, the Middle East and Southeast Asia since July, noting that the largest number of cases within Europe were in Russia, Germany and Britain.

Last week saw Austria, the Netherlands and some other States reintroduce some closure measures to try to slow the outbreak of infection, while the United Kingdom decided to introduce enhanced doses for everyone over the age of 40.
