Noting that mortality rose 11 percent last week, WHO expressed concern that the Corona virus could lead to the death of another 236,000 people in Europe by 1 December,

WHO also considered the increased transmission of the virus to be caused by the spread of the most contagious delta mutant."Excessive easing" of restrictions and procedures as well as increased travel during the summer, and the Organization expressed concern about stagnant vaccination rates and the low number of pollinators in poorer countries.

WHO Europe Director Hans Klugh explained to journalists: "The number of deaths has risen by 11 percent in the region last week, with a credible forecast of 236,000 deaths in Europe by 1 December." Europe has recorded about 1 million and 300,000 deaths in Covid so far.

According to Klug, the increase in transmission was caused by the outbreak of the most contagious delta mutant and the "exaggerated easing" of restrictions and procedures, as well as increased travel during the summer, noting the declining rate of vaccination in the region after about half of Europe's population received full doses of vaccines.
