During a study by scientists, they discovered a relationship between dairy product intake and blood pressure.

Scientists found that low blood pressure was associated with consumption of dairy products, and it was surprising that full-fat varieties were associated with the greatest overall health benefits.

A detailed research paper on these findings was published in the journal British Medical Journal and covered approximately 150 thousand participants from 21 countries, from North America to Asia. Participants were between 35 and 70 years old and were asked to document what they ate using a questionnaire for more than a year.

Participants were monitored for an average of nine years thereafter. Researchers found that eating two dairy products a day was associated with a 24 percent lower risk of metabolic syndrome.

Most interestingly, eating two classes of full-fat dairy products was associated with a 28% lower risk of metabolic syndrome.

Consumption of low-fat dairy products has never been associated with a lower risk of metabolic syndrome.

"Eating more dairy products such as milk, yogurt and cheese, especially whole rather than low-fat fats, was found to be associated with lower prevalence of metabolic syndrome and lower risk of hypertension and diabetes."

He denied the belief that dairy products were harmful to health.

"Dairy products and milk fat provide high-quality protein and a wide range of essential vitamins and minerals."
