Egypt received the second batch of new corona vaccine, produced by AstraZeneca, under the Kovacs Agreement.

On its Facebook page, the Ministry of Health said that Egypt had received million and 7,688,800 doses, loaded on a plane that landed at Cairo International Airport.

Egypt is seeking to vaccinate as many of its population as possible with multiple vaccines against Cofid 19, in order to avoid new waves of the epidemic.

Wednesday, the country recorded 1187 new cases of corona virus and 58 deaths, compared with 1180 infections and 61 deaths the previous day.

In a statement, Health Ministry spokesman Khalid Mujahid said that "the total number recorded in Egypt with corona virus as of Wednesday is 24,0927, including 17,8805 cases cured, and 14,091 deaths."
