The Iraqi Ministry of Health has revealed that the number of new Corona virus infections has risen to more than million, out of 40 million people in Iraq's total population.

According to the Ministry of Health, the number of HIV infections causing the Kufid-19 epidemic exceeded 1 million, the highest in the Arab States.

This comes at a time when Iraq has been suffering for decades from shortages of medicine, medical staff and hospitals.

According to Ministry of Health figures, 8696 injuries, including 38 new deaths, have been recorded over the past 24 hours.

This brings the number of Iraqis infected by Qufid-19 since February last year to 1,001,854, including 15,098 deaths.

The Iraqi Ministry of Health indicated that it conducts up to 40 thousand checks a day, a modest figure in a country with many cities of more than 2 million people with high population density.

It should be noted that Iraq suffers from a lack of medical equipment to care for the infected, many of whom prefer to use oxygen packaging in their homes instead of going to dilapidated hospitals, but have nevertheless successfully launched a vaccination campaign against the corona virus.

Baghdad had received some 650,000 doses of various vaccines, mostly through the international Kovacs mechanism, which aims at equitable distribution of vaccines.

According to the Ministry of Health, 274,343 Iraqis received at least one vaccine dose.

The Ministry of Health is conducting an awareness-raising campaign to persuade the population to receive vaccines under widespread suspicion and reluctance to put in the muzzles.
