Nutritionist Alexei Kovalkov commented on the prevailing view that combining cucumbers and tomatoes, for example, in a salad that many like, may be unsafe for health.
Views had recently spread on the Internet and media that such a combination deprived the body of the vitamins and minerals a person could obtain by eating these vegetables separately.
And someone thinks you can't eat cucumber with tomatoes, because the combination of foods doesn't have a good effect on the kidney and liver.
In response to those beliefs, Alexey Kovalkov explained that the various foods we eat during the day "can remain in the digestive system for hours, sometimes days." He said: "That's how we eat, and it's all mixed up anyway."
"So you can eat everything, but it's better, you eat those foods that grow in the soil, I'm talking about vegetables.
He also advised Kovalkov to exclude root vegetables when the weight was lost.
