The German Minister of Health, Jens Spahn, confirmed today, Wednesday, that the continuing high number of Coronavirus infections does not allow a return to normal life at the present time.

After Britain approved today a new vaccine to prevent Corona virus developed by the University of Oxford and AstraZeneca, SPAN expects "a comprehensive and rapid treatment of a similar request from the European Union, by the European authorities."

Last Saturday, 40 residents of a German nursing home received the new Corona virus vaccine, developed by the American "Pfizer" and the German "Biontech", one day before the official launch of the vaccination campaign in the country.

The Minister of Health expressed his happiness with this "important step to overcome the pandemic."

And the German "MDR" channel reported that a 101-year-old woman was the first to receive an anti-corona virus vaccine in Germany on Saturday.

She added that this woman is from Halberstadt and lives in a nursing home, where 40 residents and 11 employees have been vaccinated.

The German Federal Government plans to distribute more than 1.3 million doses of vaccine by the end of this year, and about 700,000 doses per week, starting January next year.
