In a statement from the Egyptian Ministry of Culture, Dr. Nevin El-Keilani, the Egyptian Minister of Culture, decided to postpone the forty-fifth edition of the Cairo International Film Festival, which was scheduled to be held from November 15 to 24, provided that the date of the festival will be determined later.

The ministry has already announced the postponement of the Arab music festival due to the ongoing Gaza war, and the launch of the 32nd edition of the festival, which was scheduled to start on October 20, was postponed in solidarity with the Palestinian cause and the people of Gaza.

The El Gouna Film Festival, in its sixth session, which was scheduled to be held on October 13, was postponed to be held on the 27th of the same month, amid expectations of a later postponement of the loft as the pace of political events in the region escalated.

The next edition of the Cairo Film Festival is scheduled to witness the premiere in the Middle East of the Palestinian film "a house in Jerusalem", directed by Moayed Alyan, as part of the midnight screenings, the Palestinian film “Sing a poem”, directed by Lani scab, participates in the International Short Film Competition, and the documentary film “Three promises” by Palestinian director Youssef al-sarouji participates in the documentary competition, which was decided before the outbreak of the Gaza war.

The festival management also decided to show the restored version of the film” Bab Al-Shams“, as part of honoring director Yusri Nasrallah, after its premiere at the Locarno Film Festival last August, and the festival celebrates short films during its next cycle through screenings, awards and new branches.
