After a great competition with about a thousand amateur photographers from different countries of the world, 19-year-old Egyptian Yousef Nasser won the "best young amateur photographer in the World" Award for 2022 in the prestigious British Amateur Photographer magazine competition, becoming the first Egyptian, Arab and African to win the title.

"It's like the feeling of winning the World Cup," is how the Egyptian photographer described the moment he won the competition, saying that the competition means a lot to him, and that he worked for a long time over the months, and traveled to a large number of Egyptian regions such as Fayoum, Alexandria, Port Said, Menoufia and Kafr el Sheikh, to document daily life and progress for the competition.

Yusuf, who studies photography at the Higher Institute of cinema, added: "My dream was to win the competition, and thanks to God I succeeded in the end, far ahead of the nearest competitors, a photographer from England with 155 points.

He continued:"throughout the months of the competition I was very nervous, I always enter and see the ranking of the top ten, compare my submitted photos with the photos of other photographers, and try to predict the result, it was not easy at all in light of the competition of a large number of outstanding photographers".

The Egyptian photographer's works were exhibited at the Egyptian Press Photo Gallery, the first time exhibition at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, and the youth salon in 2021 and 2022.

The Egyptian photographer scored 400 points from the rounds in which he participated, to receive the title of Young Amateur Photographer of the Year, and become the first Egyptian, Arab and African to receive it.
