The adviser to the President of the Egyptian Republic for the Suez Canal, Mahab Mamesh, said Monday that it would take a few days for the ship's leader to drift.

According to a ship rescue company, the Evergiven, which blocks the Suez Canal's navigator, could be stuck for weeks, impeding the movement of oil and fuel shipments between Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

Shipping sources said that the Suez Canal traffic stop is exacerbating the problems of shipping lines, which are already facing disruption and delays in supplying goods to consumers.
