The dollar exchange rate rose on the black market in Lebanon on Thursday afternoon, recording 12,900 lire for purchase and 13,000 lire for sales, prior to the presidential meeting.

The head of Government in charge in Lebanon, Saad Hariri, said Thursday that there was "an opportunity next Monday to consult and form a Government."

Hariri's speech was received this afternoon by the President of the Lebanese Republic, Michel Aoun, at the Baabda Palace.

Following the end of the meeting, Hariri told reporters: "We will be looking with Aoun again to speed up the formation of the government," adding, "There is an expected meeting next Monday with the President."

He noted that "Monday's meeting is aimed at reaching a clear perception of the Government."

Hariri stated that he was "committed" to the formation of a government of non-partisan specialists, highlighting that the primary objective of any government was "to stop the collapse."

On his official Twitter account, Hariri tweeted: "Meeting today to mitigate the collision and calm things down, and I will remain frank and now there is an opportunity to take advantage of it."
