Russia and Saudi Arabia continued to lead suppliers of crude oil to China in October 2020, but the quantities received from the two countries decreased compared to last September's levels as Chinese refineries curbed crude purchases.

According to data from the General Administration of Customs of China, today, Wednesday, that imports from Russia, which include oil transported through pipelines, last month amounted to 6.64 million tons, equivalent to 1.56 million barrels per day.

Imports from Russia were 1.82 million barrels last September and 1.64 million barrels per day in October last year.

Saudi Arabia exported 5.94 million tons, equivalent to 1.4 million barrels per day, down 29 percent from the same period last year.

China's imports from the United States fell from a record level of 3.9 million tons last September to 1.63 million tons, according to Chinese customs data.
