Beijing has unveiled a plan to develop the country's auto industry between 2021 and 2035, with the aim of turning China into a global powerhouse in the auto industry.
The Chinese government said that the plan, which will be implemented over the next 15 years, depends on 5 strategic axes, including developing technological innovation capacity and creating new environmentally friendly industrial models.
The new plan stresses the need to create low-energy cars that depend entirely on electricity, with an estimated consumption rate of 12 kW / 100 km.
This ambitious industrial plan predicts that by 2035 electric cars will become the mainstay of new car sales, while all cars and vehicles used in public transport will become electrified.
It should be noted that China, according to Xinhua, has the largest number of electric-powered vehicles in the world, and 55 percent of new energy vehicle sales in the world are Chinese.
