As the company accelerates its plans to become fully electric , Ford Motor Company announced that it will stop manufacturing "Vista" cars starting next year, ending 47 years of production of the most widespread car in Britain.

The Fiesta first hit the market in 1976, and Ford has produced more than 22 million vehicles for the global market over 9 generations.

The Ford small car has topped car sales in Britain 16 times in its history. With 1.54 million cars registered on the road last year, it is the most common car in Britain.

Despite this, the decision was made to stop it due to Ford's plans to switch to electric cars, as a result of the decision to ban sales of new cars powered by gasoline and diesel in 2030, and Ford confirmed that the production of the car Vista will stop in June 2023

And although the Vista remained the best-selling car for more than a decade until 2020, Ford confirmed today that the production of this model "will end at the brand's factory in Cologne, Germany, by the end of June 2023".

"At Ford in Europe, we are accelerating our efforts to move forward with the full electrification of our passenger cars by 2030, and all vehicles via Ford by 2035,"she said in a statement.

"As we prepare for the transition to an electric future, we will stop the production of S-Max and Galaxy vehicles used by mass transit in Valencia, Spain, in April 2023, and stop Vista production in Cologne, Germany, by the end of June 2023,"she continued.

The company's official Twitter account posted: "it's time to say goodbye to the little car that touched us all. For big moments, small moments and all the first things.. Thanks for the memories".

"As one era ends, another begins, and we can't wait to show you what we have," he added, referring to the electric vehicles it will produce.

It is planned that the Cologne site where Vista is currently being assembled, will become a factory only for electric cars.
