Leading up to the general elections, the country is moving towards economic recovery, along with successive steps to stabilize Libya politically
In this context, with the participation of a number of relevant ministers and almost 300 official and private economic figures from 20 countries, the Libyan capital, Tripoli, is home to the first Arab investment conference sponsored by the Head of Government, Abdel Hamid al-Dabiba.
The nineteenth session of the Conference of Arab Businessmen and Investors, together with the Federation of Arab Chambers, will be organized jointly by the Federation of Libyan Chambers, the General Commission for Investment Promotion and Privatization Affairs and the Economic and Business Group in cooperation with the League of Arab States.
The Secretary-General of the Arab Chambers Federation, Khaled Hanafi, states that the Libyan economy is promising to the local, Arab and foreign investors, and possesses many competitive energies and features, from location, nature, distinctive and diverse geographical area, young and imagined energies, and abundant natural stocks of resources, energy and minerals.
The two-day conference in the capital of Tripoli highlights economic developments in Libya with a view to encouraging investment, keeping pace with the recovery in the Libyan economy and promoting Arab cooperation. It is also a key platform for bringing together all Arab investment and promotion actors, as well as Arab entrepreneurs and companies operating in various sectors.
Hanafi stressed that the Forum was a key platform for bringing together Arab investment agencies, senior Arab officials, Arab investment bodies and Arab businessmen, thus contributing to new investments in Libya and bringing positive benefits to the reconstruction and development process.
The Conference is also an opportunity to learn about investment and business opportunities in Libya and about current and anticipated Government trends in order to provide an environment conducive to attracting investment.
