Pledging to keep Beijing open to foreign investment while more countries strengthen barriers on the grounds of national security concerns, Chinese Vice President Wang Qishan said today that his country and the world must work together to promote global economic growth.

Wang's speech at the Bloomberg New Economy Forum in Singapore: "China cannot evolve in isolation from the world and the world cannot develop without China. China will not hesitate to stick to deepening reform and expanding openness. "

He added: To contribute in turn to building a noble global economy and a society that shares the future with humanity to move forward, China will keep its arms wide open, and will provide greater market investment and growth opportunities for the world.

Wang, who is technically the second man after President Xi Jinping, spoke a day after the Chinese leader held a virtual summit with U.S. President Joe Biden.

The outcome of the summit was generally positive, with both sides agreeing to continue to talk on a range of issues, even as disagreement continued on issues such as Taiwan.

Wang stated that the relationship between the United States of America and China affected the "future of the world," and that both sides "must work on the important common understandings reached between the two Presidents, maintaining their focus on cooperation and managing and controlling differences."
