The Minister of Energy, His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, stated that the German-Saudi partnership in the field of global green energy or green fuel transformations would support the realization of the vision of the Kingdom of 2030 to achieve sustainable development, preserve the environment, support innovation and promote the transfer of knowledge.

Economists have included the chemical in a new economic concept, the "circular carbon economy."
