Britain and the European Union agreed on Sunday to "make an extra effort" and continue negotiations on a post-Brexit trade agreement.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said in a joint statement: “Our negotiation teams have been working day and night in recent days, and despite exhaustion, after nearly a year of negotiations, and despite not Adhering to deadlines again and again, we believe it is responsible at this stage to make an extra effort. "

The statement added: "Accordingly, our negotiators informed us to continue negotiations, and to see if an agreement can be reached, even if it is at this late stage."
