Bernhard Hennen, born in Krefeld in 1966, studied german literature, archaeology and history at the University of Cologne where he graduated as Magister Artium.

While still a student, he worked as a journalist for various newspapers and radio stations. In 1993, he wrote his first novel „The Year of the Griffin“ together with Wolfgang Hohlbein, which was awarded the best German fantasy novel in the same year.

Bernhard Hennen currently has 45 historical and fantasy novels to his name, as well as a number of short stories and novellas.

His books have now been translated into ten languages, sold more than five million copies worldwide, and spent more than 100 weeks on the bestseller list in Germany.

In 2019, his book "The Chronicles of Azuhr - The Cursed One" was awarded the Seraph as best novel (fantasy) of the year at the Leipzig Book Fair.

Bernhard Hennen is married, has two children and lives in Krefeld.
