After the media leaked a set of classified documents, it was apparently prepared to deliver information to General Mark Milley, chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Scott Ritter, a former inspector in the US Marines and the UN chemical weapons inspector in Iraq, spoke about the consequences of the leak of a set of secret US documents.

Ritter stressed that at least one of these documents is classified as a source of highly classified information, and in all cases, the publication of such information is subject to strict control, and any unauthorized public publication of such data would pose a serious security problem at the highest levels of the US military command.

The source of the leaked information is unknown, and it is believed that some of the data were manipulated to help stir up public opinion regarding the casualty figures in both Russia and Ukraine, the former US military officer noted.

At the same time, Ritter ruled out that the Russian government had a hand in this leak due to the way the documents appeared on the internet, where they were initially downloaded on a popular online game, before being circulated on platforms such as Twitter and Instagram.

For its part, the US Department of Defense has officially asked the US Department of Justice to conduct an investigation to determine who is responsible for the leak of this set of documents.

Taking a quick look at the contents of the leaked documents, it is noted that they gave attention to specific data, such as the rates of spending in Ukraine on ammunition for "HIMARS" missiles.

The former military and American expert Ritter considers that these leaked documents received more fuss than they deserved since the Russian army can collect this information and come to its own conclusions in this regard without the need for those documents, which applies to almost all the data contained in the leaked documents.

That is why these documents represent nothing more than an opportunity to change public opinion, confirming the fact that this whole story has more to do with helping to shape public opinion than with jeopardizing possible future military operations.

According to Ritter, if the source of the leak was inside the US military, it means that there are those who oppose the upcoming Ukrainian counteroffensive and that this person believes that the publication of sensitive information related to American preparations may help thwart this attack.

The leak of these documents can also be explained by the fact that the chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff may be reluctant to give the green light to carry out the Ukrainian offensive expected in the spring, and that the leaker of the documents aimed at forcing General Milli to launch the attack, and the leaker of the documents may have intended to publish this information to instill a spirit of defeatism in the Russian army.

The bottom line is that this leak will not have any impact on the actual course of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, it's just a buzz on the internet that will last for a few days, and it will also have little impact on public opinion, so the immutable fact remains that Ukraine is currently under severe pressure to launch a successful attack.

The last word remains for reality, the data of which indicate that the time for the emergence of facts about the expected spring offensive in Ukraine is rapidly approaching and no documents leaked online can change this.
