Elon Musk has announced that his new artificial intelligence company will launch a new

 model of it, to a “select group” of users as he looks to compete with industry leaders

 OpenAI and Google.

This will be the first release of Musk's new startup “Xai " (xAI), which he launched in July

 after hiring researchers from “OpenAI”,”Google DeepMind”,”Tesla” and the University of

 Toronto.

“Tomorrow, Xai will launch the first (prototype) of artificial intelligence in front of a select

 group,” Musk said on the social networking platform “X " owned by (formerly Twitter). In

 some important ways, it is the best that currently exists”.

Tesla's owner has expressed conflicting positions on artificial intelligence in the past. In a

 meeting with British prime minister Rishi Sunak, Musk considered that artificial intelligence

 is like a “magic genie” that fulfills all wishes, but reminded that fairy tales rarely have happy

 endings.

Musk has been warning for years that generative AI models running programs such as “chat

 GBT” could one day pose an existential threat to humanity.

But he is also investing heavily in the emerging industry and hopes to use the technology in

 his other companies, including “Tesla”,”SpaceX” and”X”.

Musk said that he co-founded “OpenAI” in 2015 because he considered Google's rush into

 this sector to achieve great progress and profits reckless.

He then left OpenAI in 2018 to focus on Tesla, later saying that he was not comfortable with

 the profit-driven direction the company was taking under CEO Sam Altman.

The billionaire is one of the few investors in the world who is able to compete with

 “OpenAI”, “Google” or “meta” in the field of artificial intelligence.

Building an AI model at the level of these companies entails a huge cost in terms of

 computing power, infrastructure and expertise.
