Taiwan's president on a challenging trip to Central America

 On a 10-day foreign trip, Taiwan's President Tsai Ing-wen, despite China's condemnation, embarked on a diplomatic mission to Central America that includes transit in the United States

As she left for her overseas trip, Tsai said Taiwan has every right to " connect with the world."
