After several centuries .. Vatican returns parts of Parthenon to Greece

 

At a ceremony held in a specially built exhibition space of the Acropolis Museum three fragments of Parthenon sculptures that the Vatican has kept for centuries to Greece were exhibited

In a decision that Pope Francis described as a gesture of friendship, the Vatican returned the three parts of the 2,500-year-old marble .
