China takes "mutual countermeasure" after expelling Chinese diplomat from Canada

 A day after Canada announced that it would expel a Chinese diplomat, in a mutual countermeasure, China decided to expel a Canadian diplomat in Shanghai, where the Chinese Foreign Ministry said in a statement that it strongly condemns the expulsion of Toronto-based diplomat Zhao Wei, however, it will declare Jennifer Lin Lalonde, consul of the Consulate General of Canada in Shanghai, persona non grata and asked Lalonde to leave China before May 13, according to the statement.
