Ethnic violence continues in northeast India as Home Minister's visit approaches

 

Shootings and arson continue in the northeastern Indian state of Manipur, as the state bordering Myanmar has been experiencing violence for weeks after members of mostly Christian tribal groups clashed with the Hindu majority over their demands for special economic benefits.clashes between security forces and tribal rebels the previous day killed five people, media reports said.
