Ethiopia announces the completion of 90 percent of the construction of the Renaissance Dam

 

The government agency responsible for the Renaissance Dam project announced the completion of 90 percent of the construction of the Ethiopian dam, over which there are major disputes between Ethiopia, Sudan, and Egypt.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres speaks at the opening session of the Water Conference and said ;

"This conference must represent a quantum leap in the capacity of member states and the international community to recognize and act upon the vital importance of water to our world's sustainability and as a tool to foster peace and international cooperation''
