The American actor, Alec Baldwin was practicing with a firearm, and the actor fired a live bullet and hit the director of the film Joel Souza, who survived the accident and killed the cinematographer, Halina Hutchins
The Wall Street Journal reported that the New Mexico Attorney General will file charges against Baldwin in the fatal shooting
The newspaper also reports, citing a person close to the investigation, that the prosecutor, Mary Carmack altois, is expected to charge Baldwin with manslaughter, more than a year after the investigation into the shooting in October 2021 during the filming of a movie, in the outskirts of the city of Santa Fe .
Baldwin's lawyer, Aaron Dyer, has not yet responded to a request for comment sent to him by the American newspaper.
Baldwin denied responsibility for Hutchins ' death and said live bullets should not have been used during the filming of the low-budget film. Baldwin said he was told the weapon was "cold," a technical term that means it's safe to use.
