Police in Hong Kong have arrested more than 200 demonstrators, while at least 17 people were injured in clashes between police and protesters in the city.
The police said in a statement that they arrested people for participating in riots and accused of possessing weapons and damage to property and wearing masks, adding that 118 incendiary bottles were confiscated.
The Hong Kong government condemned the actions of protesters who blocked roads, threw stones and Molotov cocktails and set fires on fire.
The protesters also stormed the headquarters of the official Xinhua news agency.
Police used tear gas, rubber bullets and water cannons to disperse the protesters.
Protests and clashes have been going on in Hong Kong since last summer, when the largely autonomous city authorities passed a law allowing extradition to courts outside Hong Kong for trial.
Despite the authorities reversing their decision and withdrawing the law that sparked the protests, demonstrations continue.
