Contradictory messages
US President Joe Biden and his successor Donald Trump on Wednesday sent contradictory messages on the occasion of Christmas, while the former wished a happy holiday to Americans, Trump focused on ideas he had recently put forward, including the annexation of Canada, control of the Panama Canal and the purchase of Greenland.
Trump spent Christmas Day writing posts on his website, Truth social, numbering about thirty, and specifically congratulating on the holiday in one of them “crazy radical leftists who are constantly trying to disrupt our court system and elections,” according to AFP.
Trump published a photo showing him as the” National man of the year”, and another in which he mocks former President Barack Obama.
His publications included articles that praised his ministerial choices, his desire to buy Greenland, and his complaints about the fees paid by American ships during their transit through the Panama Canal.
State No. 51
Again, Trump called Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau the “ruler” of Canada, saying that if Canada becomes “our 51st state, its taxes will be reduced by more than 60%” and “its business will immediately double”.
Control of the Panama Canal
Trump also reiterated his demand for us control over the Panama Canal, noting that China exerts “illegal” influence on the important waterway, while Washington spends billions of dollars on the “maintenance” of the canal, without being able to interfere in “anything” at all.
In a publication, he announced the choice of Kevin Marino Cabrera as ambassador to Panama, “the country on the Panama Canal that plunders us more than it can dream of”.
