Some people suffer from dry nose, what are its causes and how can it be faced?

To answer these questions, the German Association of Otolaryngologists explained that dry nose means dryness of the mucous membranes lining the nose, which prevents the membranes from performing their functions of preparing breathing air and fighting germs.

The association added that a dry nose has many causes among which are infections such as influenza, allergies, frequent nasal cleaning, cigarette smoke, or dry air, for example, due to air conditioning or a heater.

The symptoms of nasal dryness are a stuffy nose, itching, burning, impaired sense of smell, sneezing and nosebleeds.

Nasal dryness can be countered by the use of “decongestant nasal drops” and “sprays”, as they work to moisturize the mucous membranes. For the same purpose, a person should also drink enough water; at least two liters per day.

In the event that troubles persist, then a doctor should be consulted to determine the true underlying cause of a dry nose.

Healthy foods are especially good for dental health, and some dental problems indicate a poor diet or are due to eating foods that attack it.

Stefan Zimmer, a German dentist, explained that tooth decay is caused by a wrong diet, as caries arises due to eating a lot of low-molecular carbohydrates, that is sugar.

Bacteria on dental deposits use sugar to produce acids that, in turn, cause tooth decay. Zimmer pointed out that it does not just depend on what we eat, but when and how.

He explained that during breaks between meals, complex oral processes occur. There are bacterial deposits, which produce acids from sugar, then the pH value drops to a low level, and the plaque on the teeth is removed. Zimmer added that it takes about three-quarters of an hour for the pH to exceed this value again. During this time the tooth is weak.

The good news is that the body will regulate this by itself if it takes time to do so. This means taking a break for several hours between meals and not eating a snack or drinking anything in between.

Vegetables are an ideal meal

Vegetables are the right choice for inter-meal. Since they contain fewer sugars and need more chewing, such as celery sticks rich in fiber, which cleans the teeth to some extent, and pepper and carrots are also beneficial.

For those who prefer sweet foods, they can eat apples, which are not high in sugar or oranges.

On the contrary, eating fruits high in sugar, such as bananas, requires the use of a toothbrush immediately afterwards.

Zimmer believes that he prefers to drink orange juice in large sips instead of drinking over and over again because of the lack of sticking of much juice on the teeth and the consequent attack of the acid in it.

Avoid foods that stick to the teeth

It is also preferred to eat foods that do not stick to the teeth as their stickiness causes it to be difficult to wash and last longer on the teeth, thus damaging the teeth. Potato chips, for example, stick to chewing surfaces and cause damage to them with their high carbohydrate content.

Important vitamins

In general, vitamins play an important role in maintaining the teeth health and the mouth as a whole. Fruits and vegetables with green leaves and yellow vegetables contain a lot of vitamin A and this in turn is beneficial to the mucous membrane lining the mouth.

Vitamin C also helps to have strong teeth, while vitamin D is very important for the growth and strength of the teeth.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet, called on the American authorities to combat the systematic racism practiced by state institutions, and to translate their statements in this regard into actions on the ground.

In a speech delivered during the 45th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, which opened Monday in Geneva, Bachelet indicated that the failure to bring to justice the police responsible for their past murders "confirms the gravity of the crisis" facing the institutions of power in the United States.

She added that the two incidents of police shooting of African-American Jacob Blake in Kenosha, and the recent killing of Daniel Bond by the police in Rochester, confirms the need for urgent and profound measures to be taken to combat systemic racism and racial discrimination practiced by security institutions and in society. .

And she continued, "Municipal and police authorities have issued numerous statements about the necessity of reform following the killing of George Floyd in May, including by the security authorities in Kenosha.

These words must be consistent with real changes for African Americans to feel that the state and security institutions protect them.
