Russia depleted to its weapons as military stockpiles shrink

According to an investigation by western media said that Russian president Vladimir Putin is facing a depleting of his weapon stockpile that returned to the Soviet-era weaponry.

Russia has already used up half of its military arsenal, and at this rate, the Russian army will face shortages of tanks, armored vehicles, and artillery.

According to The Insider, the intensity of the fighting could begin to decline by late 2025 or 2026, with the outlet describing the situation as the most significant military depletion Moscow has faced in 80 years.

“Vast stockpiles of primarily Soviet-era weaponry, originally designed at the height of the Cold War for use in a global confrontation with the Western world, have been exhausted at an unprecedented rate,” the report said.

Citing data collected by the Dutch website Oryx, The Insider reported that Russia has lost over 20,000 pieces of military equipment since the start of the war, compared to 7,000 for Ukraine.
