Pope Francis has condemned the” cruelty ” of an Israeli air strike that killed seven children from the same family in the Gaza Strip, the Gaza Civil Defense said on Friday.
The pope told members of the Vatican government on Saturday: “yesterday, children were bombed. This is cruelty, not war. I want to say this because it touches my heart,” he told AFP.
The civil defense in the Gaza Strip announced the death of 10 members of one family, including seven children, after an Israeli raid targeted their home in the northern Gaza Strip on Friday.
Civil Defense spokesman Mahmoud Bassel told AFP:” there are 10 martyrs in a massacre committed by the occupation against the khalleh family after they were targeted by an aerial bombardment on their house in Jabalia Al-nazlah, “adding that”all the martyrs are from the same family, including 7 children, the oldest of whom is 6 years old. Bassil noted that another 15 people were injured in the raid.
