Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his confidence that the Ukrainian leadership will eventually visit Moscow and that it is only a matter of time.

Asked about the possibility of a Ukrainian leader, whatever important, was to Russia, Putin said in a television interview: "I think this is inevitable. There is no doubt that this will happen, and the question is when. But we will wait."

Putin stressed that Russia has no differences with the people of Ukraine, but with the authorities of the country. He said: "We did not exchange insults with the Ukrainian people, but rather we differed in opinion with those who take power today in Ukraine."

During the same interview, Putin warned that the recent statements of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelinsky on the Great Patriotic War could adversely affect relations between Russia and Ukraine.
