Russian President Vladimir Putin said Thursday that the accusations leveled by the US House of Representatives to Trump were "fabricated in my opinion."

And the Russian president expected Trump to remain president of the United States despite the measures taken by the House of Representatives against him.

The Russian president made the remarks during his 15th annual conference, which is attended by about 2000 journalists.

Last night, the US House of Representatives formally accused President Donald Trump of using power and obstructing the work of Congress, and referred him to trial before the Senate, to become the third president in American history to be subject to the isolation procedure.

With the House’s approval of the indictment, the case has moved to the Senate, which will likely try Trump next January.

"The president is confident that the Senate will restore order, justice and legal measures that were ignored during the House proceedings. He is ready for the next steps and is absolutely certain of his innocence," White House spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham said in a statement.
