The United States has listed Russian citizens and three companies on its sanctions list for alleged involvement in attempts to intervene in the 2016 US presidential election.

The Russians, Denis Kuzmin and Igor Nesterov, and the companies, Autolex Transport, Beratex Group and Linburg Industries, registered in the Seychelles, are linked to the Internet Research Agency, which is supposed to belong to Russian businessman Yevgeny Pregogen, the US Treasury Department said in a statement.
