Novorossiysk, Russia –
The Black Sea port city of Novorossiysk in Russia’s Krasnodar Region has declared a state of emergency following a significant overnight attack attributed to Ukraine, according to Mayor Andrey Kravchenko.
In a statement on his Telegram channel, Mayor Kravchenko reported, “A state of emergency has been introduced in Novorossiysk. As a result of the overnight attack by the Kiev regime, apartment buildings in the Aurora Residential Complex and on Suvorov kaya Street sustained damage. Private property in the Eastern District has also been hit. Emergency response services are working at the site. We will establish temporary accommodation centers if necessary.”

The attack was part of a larger assault on the Black Sea coast of the Krasnodar Region, as confirmed by Governor Veniamin Kondratyev. In Novorossiysk, initial reports indicate that three residential buildings were damaged. Tragically, five people were reported injured, including two children. Furthermore, debris from unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) reportedly damaged three tanks at a grain terminal within the city.
The impact of the overnight attack extended beyond Novorossiysk. Governor Kondratyev reported that drone wreckage was also found in the village of Taman in the Temryuksky District, as well as in the villages of Yurovka and Tsibanobalka near Anapa. While private homes in these areas were hit, no casualties have been reported from these locations.
The declaration of a state of emergency in Novorossiysk underscores the severity of the attack and the resulting damage to civilian infrastructure. Emergency services are currently on the ground assessing the damage and providing assistance to those affected. The incident marks a significant escalation in the conflict’s impact on Russian territory and is likely to further heighten tensions between Russia and Ukraine.
