Manchester United scored an unexpected victory over rivals Manchester City, the holders of the English Football Premier League title, on Sunday evening.
Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo scored late goals to give Man United a killer 2-1 victory over their hosts at the top of the Premier League.
Portugal coach Ruben Amorim’s team looked on course for a third consecutive league defeat after being delayed by a header from defender Yusko gvardiol.
But the top match, which lacked quality, saw a stunning turnaround late on when a mistake from Mateus Nunez caused a penalty kick that gave Fernandez the opportunity to equalize from the penalty spot in the 88th minute.
Manchester City barely got over the shock, but a few seconds later Diallo delighted the visiting fans with a wonderful goal from a tight angle.
City have won only once in 11 matches in all competitions and remain in fifth place in the league standings, while United have advanced to 12th place.
