Joint Egyptian Jordanian French Statement at the Conclusion of the Tripartite Summit in Cairo

Date:

The leaders of Egypt, France, and Jordan held a tripartite summit in Cairo on April 7, 2025, to discuss the dire situation in Gaza. They called for an immediate return to a ceasefire; to protect Palestinians and ensure they receive emergency humanitarian aid promptly and fully.

The leaders emphasized the need to implement the ceasefire agreement signed on January 19, which guarantees the release of all hostages and detainees, and ensures the safety of all. They also stressed the importance of protecting civilians and humanitarian workers, and ensuring the full delivery of aid.

The leaders expressed their deep concern about the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, and called for an end to all unilateral measures that undermine the possibility of achieving a two-state solution and increase tensions.

They emphasized the need to respect the historic status quo of the holy sites in Jerusalem, and rejected the displacement of Palestinians from their land and any attempt to annex Palestinian territories.

The leaders called for international support for the Gaza reconstruction plan, adopted by the Arab Summit and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. They also emphasized the need to crystallize these efforts at the June conference.

The leaders expressed their support for the Gaza Reconstruction Conference, to be held in Cairo in the near future, and thanked King Abdullah II, President Emmanuel Macron, and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for convening this summit
