Indian Parliamentary Delegation Concludes Qatar Visit, Emphasizes Fight Against Terrorism

A high-level Indian parliamentary delegation, led by Supriya Sule, has concluded its two-day visit to Qatar, where it emphasized India’s zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism. The delegation’s visit aimed to convey India’s united stand against cross-border terrorism, particularly in light of the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives.

### Key Highlights of the Visit

– *Meeting with Qatari Officials*: The delegation met with senior Qatari officials, including Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Mohamed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi and Minister of State for Interior Affairs Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Faisal bin Mohammed Al Thani.

– *Condemnation of Pahalgam Attack*: 

Qatar strongly condemned the Pahalgam terror attack and reaffirmed its zero-tolerance stance on terrorism, aligning with India’s position.

– *Operation Sindoor*: 

The delegation briefed Qatari officials on Operation Sindoor, India’s targeted response to the Pahalgam attack, demonstrating India’s commitment to countering terrorism without escalating tensions.

### Strengthening India-Qatar Relations

The delegation’s visit also focused on strengthening India-Qatar relations, with discussions on trade, investment, and energy cooperation. Indian Ambassador to Qatar, Vipul, highlighted the historic ties between the two nations and emphasized the importance of collaboration in counter-terrorism.

### Next Leg of the Tour

The delegation will now visit:

– *South Africa*, 

which holds the current G-20 Presidency

– *Ethiopia*, 

home to the African Union

– *Egypt*, 

an influential country in the Arab world

The visit is part of India’s efforts to project a unified national stand against terrorism and build global consensus and cooperation in the fight against terrorism.
